Salesforce Acquires Rypple, a Social HR Platform

Salesforce announced plans to acquire Rypple yesterday, and this demonstrates the cloud-based company’s expanion into the HCM and Social HR space.

I have always expected that Salesforce will be entering the HR market, and with this acquisition, I’d imagine a lot of disruption in the cloud-based Talent Management industry. Quite a few interesting moves in the last weeks or so with SAP buying SuccessFactor, which itself also acquired Jobs2web.

Rypple is a Social Performance Management platform and we refered to them in our post on Enterprise Gamification. Guess what the new Rypple business will be called – SuccessForce; what a interesting and cool name.

Will Salesforce be acquiring Social Recruiting startups in 2012? Gut feeling says yes – and perhaps we will see a TalentForce, very soon.
